Mojito |
Mojito is a traditional Cuban highball. The Mojito was Ernest Hemingway's favorite drink.
Ernest Hemingway made the bar called "La Bodeguita del medio" famous as he became one of its regulars.
Unfortunately today, the mojito seems relatively unknown in the United States. Unfortunately, because
of politics, Americans are missing out on something very good.
Here is a recipe from our favorite Cuban bar called "La Bodeguita Del Medio" located in Prague's Old Town.
Ingredients:
- 4 parts white Rum
- 3 parts fresh lime juice
- 3 sprigs of mint
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- Club soda
Preparation:
- Combine mint sprigs with sugar and lime juice in a shaker and crush with a mortar.
- Add rum and top with club soda.
- Stirr over ice and strain into a chilled glass.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint leaves and serve with a straw.
